We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Scribe & Patient Advocate to provide high-quality clinical support and ensure the seamless delivery of mental health services. This is a dynamic, patient-facing role that goes beyond traditional transcription. You will act as the primary liaison between patients and physicians, focusing on real-time case documentation, appointment coordination, and care navigation.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can manage complex clinical workflows while providing empathetic support to patients navigating the telepsychiatry process.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, real-time documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and provider schedules.
- Work one-on-one with physicians to capture clinical notes and assist with the preparation of accommodation letters or disability forms.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure clinical data is updated and accessible.
- Provide empathetic emotional support to patients throughout their mental health treatment journey.
- Guide patients through pharmacy or prescription-related issues and assist in obtaining medical records.
- Assist patients with registration, onboarding, and navigating telepsychiatry platforms.
- Manage appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and proactive notifications regarding care changes.
- Resolve support escalations through Zoom calls or other virtual communication tools.
- Assist with out-of-network claims and address billing or payment-related queries.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve patient care delivery and internal service workflows.
Requirements
- Degree in Nursing, Psychology, Pharmacy, or a related healthcare field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Medical Scribe, Patient Advocate, Clinical Coordinator, Nurse, or Pharmacist.
- Exceptional English communication skills (C1 level or higher).
- Proven ability to engage compassionately with diverse patient populations and maintain a professional bedside manner in a virtual environment.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual care technologies; strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions and treatment modalities is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team (4 members), take initiative, and maintain strict HIPAA/confidentiality standards.
This position is not focused on backend tasks; the candidate should be comfortable working one-on-one with doctors.
Availability to work from 9 AM to 6 PM EST, Monday–Friday or Sunday–Thursday.
