Gaba Telepsychiatry is looking for an Online Pharmacist. Working for a Telepsychiatry practice based in New York, this role will require working US East Coast hours (ET).
As a pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.
Your primary responsibilities will include providing medication-related advice to patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and liaising with patients to ensure their medication is working as expected and they have no adverse side effects.
You will be a key member of the clinical team, collaborating with physicians and other professionals to optimize patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Medication Preauthorizations
- Liaise with US-based pharmacists when needed to solve problems
- Claim forms
- Collect payments when needed
- New patient registration, collect history and medication history
Medication Review and Management:
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of patient medical histories and medication profiles to assess medication appropriateness, interactions, and potential side effects.
- Collaborate with our psychiatrists to effectively establish and adjust medication as required to effectively treat patients' mental health conditions.
- Monitor medication adherence and compliance to optimize treatment outcomes.
- Provide patients and healthcare providers with relevant information about medications, potential side effects, and alternative treatment options.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in psychiatric pharmacotherapy through regular continuing education and professional development activities.
Drug Information and Consultation:
- Serve as a reliable resource for the telepsychiatry team, providing up-to-date information on psychiatric medications and emerging pharmaceutical developments.
- Offer guidance and recommendations on appropriate medications for various mental health conditions, considering individual patient needs and medical histories.
- Respond to inquiries and consultations from our psychiatrists regarding medication-related concerns and clinical decision-making.
Patient Education and Counseling:
- Educate patients on the proper use and potential risks of psychiatric medications to ensure informed consent and shared decision-making.
- Address patient questions and concerns about their medications clearly and empathetically, fostering trust and therapeutic relationships.
- Encourage patient engagement in their treatment plan and provide ongoing support to enhance treatment adherence.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all relevant state and federal regulations regarding the prescription and dispensing of psychiatric medications.
- Monitor and report adverse drug reactions or medication errors in compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
- Implement strategies to promote medication safety and reduce the risk of medication-related incidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
- Demonstrated experience in psychiatric pharmacotherapy and medication management.
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the telepsychiatry team and patients.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently within a remote setting.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and a passion for enhancing mental health services through telepsychiatry.
