About
Gerald F. Ronning, MD
Dr. Ronning has had a practice in Psychiatry in Minneapolis and St. Paul Minnesota for over
thirty years. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, a Board-Certified Psychiatrist, trained and practiced in Neurology and Neuropathology, and a consultant to Group Relations Conferences of the A K Rice Institute for the Study of Social Groups.
He is a Fellow of the Yale and London Research Training Programmes of the International Psychoanalytical Association and was a Candidate at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis as well as a member of the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society. He has been a member of the clinical faculty in the departments of Psychiatry and Family Practice at the University of Minnesota. While on the staff of the Ramsey County Mental Health Center he consulted simultaneously at the Minnesota State Prison and at the St. Peter State Hospital.
He is a member of the Opiates and Psychiatry Committee of the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics, recently presenting his research “Brain Mapping with Linguistic Probes”. He has developed and directed inpatient treatment programs for adults and adolescents, written and presented on many topics including adolescent violence and the predictive patterns of language,” “The Persephone Project” and the “Undifferentiated Primary Care Syndrome” for the Family , Medicine House Officers Series and has produced award-winning mental health related documentary videos.
